How does 7Startrade-in work?
Find the device that you want to sell, select it, and choose the condition of it to receive an offer. Complete the checkout process and you’ll receive your free shipping label. We’ll inspect the item when we receive it and can issue payments by either standard check or PayPal. If the condition of the item you sent does not match the description/condition you have chosen, we may counter offer the value or simply return the item back to you.
How do I determine the condition of my phone?
It is important to accurately rate the physical and functional condition of your item. These ratings are crucial to helping 7Startrade-in meet your expectations.
Select “Flawless” condition if…
− My device is brand new in the box (OR…)
− My device is in mint condition (not one scratch, not one issue)
Select “Good” condition if…
− My device works and powers on
− My device may have some normal signs of wear
− The screen is not cracked
− The LCD is not damaged or missing pixels
− My device isn’t missing any buttons
Select “Poor” condition if…
− My device turns on but…
− My device is missing buttons
− The LCD is broken or the screen is cracked
− The device itself is cracked or it has busted ports
− It’s water damaged
Select “No Power” condition if…
− My device won’t turn on
Do I need to send any accessories with my devices?
When you send in your device, you only need to include the phone battery (unless it’s missing). You don’t have to send in any accessories with your device, but if you’d like to, we will recycle it on your behalf.
What determines my devices value?
Our team of highly qualified researchers gather market data on a daily basis, which allows us to offer the best price and to make sure you are getting the most up to date and competitive price for your device. We want you to get paid!
How do I remove “iCloud” before shipping my iPhone, iPad?
iCloud is software for all Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad and iPods which offer protection to the user. Unfortunately if iCloud is still active when we receive it we can’t pay you the full quote from our site because it cost money to remove iCloud. But you can do it yourself, it’s super easy.
Here’s how you turn off iCloud:
- Open “Settings” on your device.
- Select “iCloud” in Settings menu.
- If Find My iPhone is ON, tap the slider to turn it OFF.
- If you are prompted to for a password, enter your iCloud password and tap “Turn Off” to confirm.
I don’t see my device listed on the site, what should I do?
If you don’t see your device on our site, this means, we no longer purchase it. You can however donate a device and we’ll ensure it is properly recycled.
What if the device I send in doesn’t match the criteria I selected on the form?
If we receive a device that is different from your selection online, we will send you a requoted offer reflecting this new price. If you are not satisfied with the re-quoted amount, we’ll ship your device back free of charge, otherwise we are always happy to recycle it responsibly on your behalf.
What do I do when I do not agree with the counter offer?
After our inspection, we may counter offer a lower value for your item if the condition does not meet the declared condition at checkout. You have 7 days to make a decision on if you want to accept or decline our new offer. If you do not respond in 7 days, we will assume that you are accepting our offer and payment will be processed. If you decide that you want to decline the offer, we will process the return shipping within 3 business days and send it back to you with tracking number at our cost.
Can I send in more than one device at a time?
Yes, you may select multiple devices on the site simply by selecting “add a device” up to 5 device or if you have more than 5 you can go to Bulk order.
We keep a record of every device you select so we can track it through the entire process and honor the price quoted for the devices selected.
If your devices won’t fit in our mailer, you may use the label we give you on another box that is suitable. We recommend you use some padding or bubble wrap prevent any damage during transit.
When does my offer expire?
Your devices value will decline over time, but we got your back for 14 days. If we receive your device after 14 days we’ll send you a re-quote via email, which is valid for 5 days with current pricing. If you do not accept or decline the re-quote in the allotted time, the payment will automatically be processed. If you elect to decline the re-quote, 7Startrade-in will mail back your device free of charge.
How do I deactivate my services?
You must contact your service provider to deactivate your services in order for us to process your device. ESN (Electronic Serial Number) can be active for various reasons such as if the account associated with the device has an outstanding balance or device was reported lost or stolen. Please ensure to clear all outstanding issues with the service provider before sending us the device. When we receive the item with service is still activated, we will notify you via email and hold it for 7 business days. If we do not hear back from you after 7 days, we will ship the device back to you
How to deactivate Find My Phone?
You must deactivate the Find My Phone feature on all Apple products before shipping the device to us. Here are step by step instructions on how to deactivate Find My IPhone.
- Go to SETTING
- Select "iCloud" in the Setting Menu
- If Find my IPhone is ON (Green color slider), slide the tap to other side to disable. - Enter your iCloud password if prompted and select Turn Off and confirm.
How long does it take to receive payment?
Depending on where you shipped the device from, it can take 2-7 business days for the shipment to arrive at our processing center. From the time we receive the shipment, it takes about 3-5 business days before we issue the payment. PayPal payments are instantly issued but checks may take 3-5 business days to arrive. You are able to track the status by logging into your account page at any given time.
Should I send my battery in?
Yes. It helps us determine whether the phone powers on and will speed up the payment process.
Do I need to remove sim cards from my phone?
We recommend it, but we will remove it if you don’t.
Do I need to wipe out my phones memory before sending it in?
We wipe all devices free of charge, but clearing the data yourself is recommended. If you need any help doing this feel free to call us and we’ll walk you through it
Do I get more money if I send in my device’s charger or accessories?
We don’t pay extra for accessories, but it’s a good way to environmentally recycle electronic waste.
How do I find my phones model number?
Generally it will be somewhere on the original box, printed on the label beneath the battery, or located on the back plate. If your device is in working order, you can go to the “about” section of the settings app for the model information.
If my phone doesn’t power on or it has water damage is it still worth sending?
If doesn’t power on it still may be worth something. And if it isn’t, we’ll let you know and offer to recycle it properly.
Many water damaged phones still look like they function 100% but all phones have a water damage indicator (sticker with colors on the phone & battery). We will not be able to buy back any phone with water damage.
Do I need to do anything to my phone before sending it in?
We recommend that you remove all user passwords, sign out of all accounts, and take the phone off your account by deactivating it. That means ensuring the device is not activation locked (iCloud, Google), and it has a clean ESN.
Do you buy devices that are not fully financed?
We can only purchase a device from you if you are the legal owner. Devices that are still being financed must be paid off in full before being sent to 7Startrade-in.
How should I package my item?
If you do not have your original 7Startrade-in mailer, please carefully package your device/devices to ensure that it is not damaged in transit. Using items such as old newspapers and bubble wrap will help cushion your electronics. We will recycle all packaging materials along with your device.
If you are not sure how to pack the device, please take it to UPS or USPS and they can help you to pack them professionally. We are not responsible for devices damaged during shipment. Please make sure they are packaged nicely.
